김진화의 작품세계 

김진화의 작품을 맞닥뜨리면 누구나 신비스런 분위기에 마음을 빼앗긴다. 

LED조명으로 수놓은 별빛과 여신, 천사, 그리고 기호처럼 나열되는 사물들... . 수수께끼처럼 알 수 없는 조합이지만 호기심으로 빠져들면서 왠지 모를 행복함이 차오르게 된다. 깊은 사색과 자로 잰 듯한 엄격함이 느껴져 매우 이성적으로 보이지만 푸른 하늘 한 조각에도 꿈을 매달 수 있는 순수함이 고스란히 담겨 있다. 김진화는 많은 작품을 통해 인간의 내면심리, 현대인의 모습에 대한 비판, 인간의 잠재 욕구 등을 화두로 삼았다. 그러나 항상 작품의 내면에 흐르는 것은 ‘인간의 순수 영혼을 일깨우기’였고, 평면과 입체, 설치작업의 상호조응과 공간 탐구를 바탕으로 작품 형식의 변이를 추구해 왔다.

건조해진 타인들에게 행복한 쉼을 주고자 쉬지 않고 달려온 창작의 길이지만 김진화에게 작업은 자신과의 대화의 길이기도 했다. 평면과 입체, 설치를 넘마들며 공간과 새로운 아이디어를 접복시키고 빛을 끌어들이며, 어떻게 관객들과 상호작용을 더 유도할 수 있을까를 생각했다. 예술의 길로 들어선 이후, 산고를 겪고 탄생한 작품은 김진화의 청년기의 고민과 철학, 감성과 취향, 깨달음과 도전 등을 고스란히 담고 있다. 항상 생각의 중심을 차지하고 있던 것은 내면의 나를 귀한 존재로 발견하는 것이다. 자신의 존재를 인식할 때 무지가 끝나고, 비로소 행복을 찾을 수 있다. 왜냐하면 행복은 진실한 자아속에서 태어나기 때문이다. 작품을 통해 사람들이 행복감을 느낄 수 있다면 어려운 철학적보다도 관객이 쉽게 느낄 수 있는 작품으로 만나는 것이 더 중요하다고 스스로 생각한다. 무엇보다도 공감과 소통으로 사람들에게 희망과 꿈들을 간직하게 하는 것이 예술의 몫이라고 여기기 때문이다. ~

Kim Jin Hwa's works ensnare viewers with their mystic atmosphere. Starlit scenes bedecked with LEDs, goddesses, angels, and things resembling symbols - the coalescence of these elements is enigmatic, but viewers may feel a sence of happiness and fall into her work with curiosity. Her pieces appear very rational with profound contemplorary humans, and latent desire. She has always put focus on "awakening humanity's pure soul", seeking a transition in the form of her work based on interactions between two-dimensional and three-dimentional works and installations as well as an exploration of space.

Kim Jin Hwa has been tirelessly absorbed in creating art in order to offer others a moment of calm and relaxation but that is not all. Her work is also a way of talking to herself. She has considered how to move beyond the boundaries between planes and solids, how to apply new ideas to spaces. how to draw light into her work, and how to generate more interactions with viewers. Her work hold her adolescent troubles, philosophies, emotions, preferences, enlightenment, defiance. What she focus on is to regard her inner self as an invaluable being. When one realizes his existence, he is able to find ture happiness sfter putting an end to ignorance. That is why happiness starts from one's ture self.Kim believes that introducing viewers to works they can easily appreciate is more important as the ture objective of her work is to make them feel happy rather than convey and abstruse philosopical thoughts. That is also why she thinks art assumes the role of allowing people to see their hopes and dreams throught appreciation and communication.
